Our exam tests your knowledge of medical terminology studied in the course. The exam is entirely optional and individual sections can be taken at any time. If you obtain 90% or more in all assessments we can provide a course certificate that indicates your achievements. Resits for all assessments are available following a period of revision. These are the eight assessments that form our exam:

Award of the course certificate indicates the registered candidate has a basic understanding of medical terminology and has achieved competence in in the following learning outcomes:

  • understanding the structure of medical terms including the meaning of common prefixes, combining forms of roots and suffixes
  • associating common medical terms relating to body systems to their meanings
  • writing medical terms from their definitions
  • naming of medical specialties from their definitions
  • writing the full meaning of general abbreviations and those relating to body systems
  • spelling medical terms from dictation
Note: This certificate indicates your scores in the course assessments, it is not a national award.

 

Access:

The full interactive course is available from the date of purchase when you enrol directly. If you pay by credit card or an existing PayPal account we will send you a user name and password via e-mail as soon as payment is received. The course is studied via the internet on your computer.
